To be Canadian means really cold winters that last from November until April. It means small towns and wide-open country. As Canadians we view ourselves as hardworking people who always put an effort into going out of our way to help others. Other people view us as a polite group of people that say “eh” after every sentence. Their image of us is a person wearing a winter jacket, a toque living in an igloo and drinking beer. Diversity is extremely important to Canadian identity, we believe in accepting everyone and including their cultural beliefs. We are a mixed culture full of different nationalities. Our personalities and values influence Canadian identity in a big way; they make us who we are. As Canadians the way we are raised, our personalities and values give Canadians the good name we have. Our values come from our parents who have always taught us to be considerate and the best we can be but not flaunt it. Our personalities come from our surroundings; our family, friends and neighbours.
