1. "A place of jubilation and of mourning, horrible and beautiful." This sets the tone as both positive and negative it seems as though the author can't decide on whether or not they enjoyed living in a small town. This makes me think the author will compare and contrast her experiences.
2. She says that prairie towns are described as dull, bleak, flat, and uniteresting. She doesn't agree with this but she doesn't know why. I agree with the author. There isn't a lot to the prairies but that makes what is there that much more special.
3. She didn't like the droughts when the earth would dry up and the farmers would become angry.
4. I can't wait to leave this school but I will regret leaving my family. This school is so dull and dreary that I won't have any second thoughts of coming back here. My home i will also leave willingly but i will come back often.
5. I disagree, I think that Canadian's best quality is our modesty, especially when compared to the Americans.
6. I think that she means that Canadians, at least some, live in sparsly populated areas much like the original pioneers but we have a lot more conveniances and will never have to work as hard as they ever did.
7. I disagree, you might always carry a part of your home with you but it doesn't dictate who you are or what you do. You can chage your mind about things when you leave and explore the world.
