Strange Brew
Some stereotypes I noticed in Strange Brew included saying “eh” after every sentence, along with calling people “hoseheads” or “hosers.” The two main characters, Bob and Doug McKenzie, were always dressed in flannel shirts, toques, winter coats and winter boots showing that it was always cold. Along with all of the winter clothing Bob and Doug also wore hockey jerseys, and played hockey throughout the movie. The main story of the movie is about getting beer which they drink all the time. It is true that as Canadians we tend to say "eh" at the end of almost every sentence when having a conversation. Although I have not ever heard anyone call someone a "hosehead" or "hoser" so I'm not sure where they got that stereotype from. The majority of Canadian people wear a t-shirt and jeans you don't normally see people wearing fannel shirts unless its really cold. As for winter boots, coats and toques yes we wear them in winter when its -40 degrees outside but i'm pretty sure so does the rest of the people in the world. And yes it is true it is usually cold here we seem to have winter for atleast 6 or 7 months of the year. Hockey is by far the most popular sport in Canada but we don't wear hockey jerseys everyday. Beer is most definately the most popular type of alcoholic beverage of Canadians, that is true.
