The Americans are exact opposites and are portrayed as loud, obnoxious, dirty, stupid and on the verge of an economic collapse because they didn't have a war on at the time (the only thing that has changed is they had the economic collapse). The Americans would push the Canadians out of their way and insulted our beer (bad move). They constantly believed that America was better even though it was dirtier, more polluted, and had almost no economy. The majority of Americans were able to be convinced, in less than a week, that Canada was determined to rule the world. The Americans loved war. Their economy was based almost entirely on preparing for war. They needed war so much they actually went back and asked the Russians to restart the Cold War.
The stereotypes greatly exaggerate the personalities of both the Canadians and the Americans. While these cultures do exist in both countries they aren't either to this extent or the people are a minority. Canadians aren't nearly as polite as they are portrayed and there are some that are just as large of warmongers as Americans. There are also Americans who hate war and are very polite. Canadian cities aren't nearly as clean as they are portrayed and Americans aren't nearly as dirty. The best way to describe it would be if you took the two cultures portrayed and averaged them together that would be a good representation of both countries. Except for the beer, we will shank a b!*%$ over beer.
