1) A place of incredible happenings, splendours and revelations, despairs like multitudinous pits of hell. The tone set at the beginning was dark, bleak, and mysterious.
2) Laurence states that other people describe small prairie towns as bleak and full of despair. She does not totally agree or disagree, but kind of goes off on a tangent about how it doesn’t matter because it’s still part of her history. I, personally, think prairie towns are amazingly awesome.
3) She seems to hate the town and everything about: the weather, the size, the absence of stores, the no sense of privacy, etc.
4) No, I kind of wish I was thirteen and would never age and have to leave and go do stuff and what not.
5) Canadians are PURE AWESOME! What’re you talking aboot, eh? Not a SHRED of modesty!
6) Well personally I see this quote as showing her utter insanity, but I assume you want a better answer than that. Yeah, I don’t really get if she’s using sarcasm or not or whether she means Canadians are wimps or that they are in touch with the Earth. It’s just too ambiguous.
7) Suuuure… I guess that could work as a title… If, of course, you are totally devoid of imagination and lack all skills in the way of putting words together to make them sound good. The title would do it’s job, but I sure wouldn’t want to read something labled You are where you are from – no matter how much you fight it without someone putting a gun up to my head.
